Light Doulas

From my Moon Journal:

"..many rave about the full moon (I do, too), but there's something special about her ascent to fullness that is absolutely captivating - compelling in a way that has me lingering just a little longer to witness her emergence. I feel like a doula, bringing in the labor of light."

So many songs about the moon, still two favorites come to mind: Afro-Peruvian songstress Susana Baca's rendition of "Luna Llena" from her self-titled release and Portugal's fadista Ana Moura crooning "Flor da Lua (Moon Flower)" on Guarda-Me a Vida Na Mão.

Happy Birthday to a Visionary!

A visionary leader and spirit; indefatigable, steadfast. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. thoroughly energized his Capricorn Sun by workin' that mountain - Goat Medicine, indeed - climbing, striving, ambitious to realize and manifest Peace & Harmony. He's left a great legacy. With Pluto in Capricorn for the next couple of hundred years, our only choice *is* to shift consciousness (like it our not). What will you sing in his name? In your name? In Humanity's name?

Gregorian New Year 2009 in Effect!

And with it lists, lists, lists! Here a few of mine, in the way of musical selection. Of course, these are just snapshots of a greater list of favorites of 2008, and some of the albums were actually released in late 2007, and deserved proper airplay through 2008. Maybe I'll add those 'others', as well.

The Time Has Arrived! The Ancestors Have Spoken!

A Visionary Leader for the People?
Pray for the best (and tether your camel).

Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States. Pay close attention. There's always more than meets the eye. Plant your gardens, conserve resources, learn the Earth. Think critically.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I still believe that one day mankind will bow before the altars of God and be crowned triumphant over war and bloodshed, and nonviolent redemptive goodwill will proclaim the rule of the land.
